Maybe you already have a safety / security team of volunteers in place, but who trained them? Not every church has active or retired Law Enforcement officers at their disposal. Therefore, they find themselves relying on the concerned “Concealed Carry card-holders”. The issue comes when you start looking at what training they’ve had, if any, to defend the congregation. These team members may need to make split-second decisions with many lives on the line. Having a plan in place, recruiting the right people and properly training them is critical to minimizing the casualties. The nuts and bolts
The Sheepdog Project, LLC (TSP) offers professional insight into identifying the security risks and needs of your House of Worship. We will begin with the nationally recognized FEMA Threat and Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (THIRA) process. THIRA provides a comprehensive, consistent approach for identifying and assessing risks and associated impacts. The results of this assessment will be provided with recommended steps for creating (or modifying) your personalized Emergency Operation Plans (EOP).
The results
Once you have your EOP established, TSP will provide your security team with the quality training they need. As a result, they will provide the safety your congregation has come to expect at your worship services.
