With the price of bullets being through the roof, if you can even find them, now more than ever it’s time for some dry-fire work. This training is in our indoor climate controlled “Virtual Range“. Actually, no bullets are allowed in the training room during this course.
It doesn’t matter if you’re able to shoot 6 rounds in a dime-sized hole if you can’t draw your gun fast enough. If you’ve taken our courses, then you’ve heard us telling you to “draw fast and shoot slow”. Unfortunately, that’s a skill that doesn’t get practiced often enough.
The good news is, that’s what this Bare Bones Tactics training is all about. Not only will you get some quality trigger time, but you can instantly see your draw times and splits. Our team of professionals will provide guidance to help jumpstart your O.O.D.A. loop cycle; therefore, getting your gun into action and on target faster.
If your only option is a purse to carry your gun, bring it and let us teach the best methods to deploy from. You can practice this technique in the safety of our controlled environment where learning is at an optimum.
For this training, you will report to the Dog Box (our training room) out at Altra Firearms. We will run you through various drills while using our state-of-the-art Laser system. If you have a favorite laser gun or a laser set-up for your gun, bring it. Otherwise we will outfit you with one of our laser systems for your gun or in one of ours if you don’t have one yet.
The Sheepdog Project conducts “purpose-driven” training and will provide you with professional expertise along your path. This class size is limited to 4 to allow us to quality one-on-one time with each student.

For Handgun 101, Bare Bones Tactics & Level 1 Courses: No previous training required. These are Entry level courses and will be conducted indoors. Live-Fire shooting courses (Conducted outside) For Level 2: You must have completed our Level 1 (in person or online.) If completed online, you will be required to provide the completed test prior to the start of this course. (Not required for active or retired Law Enforcement.) For Level 3: Unless you are prior or current Law Enforcement, you must have successfully completed our Level 2 prior to taking this course. For Level 4: You must have successfully completed our Level 3 course prior to taking this course. For Level 5: You must have successfully graduated from our Level 4 course with a score of 85% or higher prior to taking this course.
You may cancel this course for a full refund prior to 3 weeks from the start date or you may reschedule for a future date up to 1 year from the original date of purchase. If you cancel within the same week as the course (within 7 days barring emergencies), you will forfeit your registration fee and be required to pay full price to sign up for the course again.
For Handgun 101, Bare Bones Tactics & Level 1 Courses: If you own a pistol that you currently carry or are wanting to carry, please bring it with you. If not, we will fit you with one and use it for training. NO BULLETS ARE ALLOWED IN THE TRAINING ROOM. FOR ALL LIVE FIRE (SHOOTING) COURSES You will be required to bring the following with you: 1. Eye protection 2. Hearing protection 3. Your pistol 4. A holster that will be worn on a belt or on your strong-side hip (no small of back or Cross-draw holsters permitted until you have successfully completed our Level 2 & no Shoulder holsters permitted.) 5. A minimum of TWO magazines (or speedloaders for revolver users) 6. A hat with a brim (baseball style hat is preferred) 7. Check the weather and dress accordingly; we will be outside the whole time. No open-toe shoes permitted. If you need any of these items, just let us know and we'll make arrangements to have them available for you. If you don't have a gun yet, be sure to add the ALTRA PACKAGE to your order and we'll provide you with all the above. NO SINGLE ACTION REVOLVERS ARE PERMITTED TO BE USED NUMBER OF BULLETS REQUIRED For Level 2: Minimum of 125 bullets for your caliber of pistol For Level 3: Minimum of 200 bullets for your caliber of pistol For Level 4: Minimum of 225 bullets for your caliber of pistol For Level 5: Minimum of 225 bullets for your caliber of pistol.
