This course will be the combination of the Handgun 101 and the Bare Bones Tactics courses. Our team of professionals will guide and assist you as you learn how to get a good grip, sight picture, sight alignment, trigger squeeze and follow through; without the bang! If you don’t own a pistol yet, no worries. Our team can properly “fit” you with one before you end up buying something you won’t like.
The Handgun 101 is a down-and-dirty, just the bare minimum basics you will need to safely handle and use your handgun. We’ll cover some Use of Force Laws and how to Safely Handle and Store your handgun. You’ll learn how to break your gun apart and put it back together for cleaning purposes.
With the price of bullets being through the roof, if you can even find them, now more than ever it’s time for some dry-fire work. The Bare Bones Tactics training is in our indoor climate controlled “Virtual Range“ without any bullets. Actually, there are no bullets are allowed in the training room during this course.
It doesn’t matter if you’re able to shoot 6 rounds in a dime-sized hole if you can’t draw your gun fast enough. If you’ve taken our courses, then you’ve heard us telling you to “draw fast and shoot slow”. Unfortunately, that’s a skill that doesn’t get practiced often enough.
The good news is, that’s what this Bare Bones Tactics training is all about. Not only will you get some quality trigger time, but you can instantly see your draw times and splits. Our team of professionals will provide guidance to help jumpstart your O.O.D.A. loop cycle; therefore, getting your gun into action and on target faster.
If your only option is a purse to carry your gun, bring it and let us teach the best methods to deploy from. You can practice this technique in the safety of our controlled environment where learning is at an optimum.
For this training, you will report to the Dog Box (our training room) out at Altra Firearms. We will run you through various drills while using our state-of-the-art Laser system. If you have a favorite laser gun or a laser set-up for your gun, bring it. Otherwise we will outfit you with one of our laser systems for your gun or in one of ours if you don’t have one yet.
The Sheepdog Project conducts “purpose-driven” training and will provide you with professional expertise along your path. This class size is limited to 2 students to allow us to quality one-on-one time with each student for the 2 hours we have you.
