In Phase 1 (Firearm Safety Training), the student completed the NRA certified SIMCO course. This course utilizes the Next Level Training SIRT Laser pistols. The students were taught about gun safety including:
They will receive an official NRA certificate upon completion of this course.
Phase 3 involves empty-handed techniques. This is a very basic variation of a Self-Defense course we offer to our adults. We want the student to feel empowered knowing that the gun is not the first option, but rather the very last.
Phase 4 is the final phase and restricted to ages 13-17 (parent or guardian must be present.) During this phase, we will be conducting a live-fire exercise to practice the principles learned in Phases 1 and 2. (Phases 1 and 2 are a prerequisite for participating in this final Phase.)
The student will receive a certificate at the completion of each phase of this course.
Parent’s / Guardian’s are required to complete and bring with them the FTA-Altra Waiver if they do not intend to stay with the student.
This course is available to all youth ages up to 17 years old. If you feel your child is mature enough to be able to grab a gun and put their finger on the trigger, then this course is for them. There is no live-fire shooting done during this course. They must have successfully completed F.A.S.T. Phase 1 prior to taking this course.
You may cancel this course for a full refund prior to 3 weeks from the start date or you may reschedule for a future date up to 1 year from the original date of purchase. If you cancel within the same week as the course (within 7 days barring emergencies), you will forfeit your registration fee and be required to pay full price to sign up for the course again.
A waiver will need to be signed by the parent or guardian if they do not intend to stay. It is not required for a parent or guardian to be present, but the option is available if desired. We will provide everything the student needs to complete.
